How Do I Prepare for Christ?

 I learned something new today.

I had not seen this before.

I learned this from a boy who is 13 years old.

We were talking about preparing for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

We went to D&C 133.

We went to Matthew 25.

We examined the Parable of the 10 Virgins.

“What could the oil represent?”

You see, parables have layers of interpretation.

“Testimony.”

“Improvement.”

We went on…

“Hearing Jesus Christ.”

Each one was powerful in its own way.

Then one response came that I did not expect:

“The blood of Christ.”

Wait.

This one caused me to pause.

Then the Spirit taught me.

How I can come to know Jesus Christ better (JST Matt. 25: 11) in preparation for His coming is through His sacrifice and blood spilt for me.

His blood sanctifies.

His blood bonds.

His blood lifts.

His blood exalts.

His blood extends mercy.

His blood establishes truth.

His blood knows me,

Intimately.

His blood prepares.

You see, I did not see what He sees.

“You can’t be prepared without Me.”

“I am the key that unlocks the door.”

I get to the Father by Him.

I knock…

Day by day.

I repent…

Day by day.

I share Him…

Day by day.

I add drops of His blood to my lamp…

Day by day.

His blood keeps the light burning,

Even when it’s dark. 🩸
